Welcome to M.I.C.A's home at Mersea Centre, right in the heart of the town and offering a fabulous range of activities for the people of Mersea Island and district. In the following pages you will find news and information about forth coming events, regular activities, sports and keep fit. You can meet the people who run the centre, find out about prices, times, dates, membership and the history of how the Centre came into being.
We are a registered charity who's objectives are to maintain and manage
the Community Centre in a common effort to advance recreation, education and leisure-time activities to improve the quality of life for the people of Mersea and disitrict.
We are not owned or managed by the District or Town Council, we are entirely independent. The members own Mersea Centre and if you live on the Island or surrounding district you can be a member and share in that ownership.
You can also visit our "Chat Page" where you are able to read or add your point of view to any discussion on local issues or matters concerning the Mersea Centre. Perhaps you can gather support for a new activity.Volunteers are the life-blood of the Centre, without them we would not survive. The duties range from Relief Manager, Office, Bar or Charity Shop to helping with the Monday Daycare luncheons. All are very rewarding ways of joining in with the community spirit.
